Locating Polar Regions

The polar regions are the first to be affected by climate changes. The arctic ice flow is gradually shrinking, whilst certain Antarctic glaciers are breaking up and losing mass. We invite you to join a fabulous educational trip to the heart of the polar regions.

A series of flash animations have been designed by the International Polar Foundation to help you better understand the different phenomena behind these changes. But before going into detail, it is important to clearly distinguish the characteristics of the Arctic and the Antarctic.

The first animation that we suggest you view is entitled "What are the Arctic and Antarctic?". This general presentation of the polar regions will enable you to situate them better and discover their specific features.
