The International Polar Foundation has published a set of 10 images that complements the "learn by images" activity proposed in the teaching dossier for teachers. This new material allows teachers to extend reflection to other problems and, by this way, prompt discussion and analysis.

Possible activities

Sort pictures

Pupils, in pairs, sort pictures against selected criteria (each group selects a different one). When the group has finished, they can explain their sorting and listen to other groups' results.

Finding out problems

Pupils, in pairs, look at the 10 proposed pictures. They try to find out problems hidden in each picture by giving them a title and by describing each situation in a few words. Pupils can also find other interesting pictures in the comic book encouraging a "sustainable development way" of living.

Expression

Each pupil chooses one picture they feel good or bad about (picture they like or dislike). Once they have choosen one, they explain their choice to other pupils.
