    1,400 6th grade pupils participated in IKANDA, the first congress for children in Flanders, held on November 17th, 2009. The congress was organized by the Education Department of the Flemish Government and the Flanders District of Creativity. IKANDA is a place where passion and talent come together.

    After the briefing of Friday October 16th in the headquarters of the IPF, we can now confirm that the new season for the Princess Elisabeth Station has started! 44 people will take part in this season, staying between 1 and 5 months on the spot.     Chris Paton is a 35-year-old English and Geography teacher who has been living in Uummannaq for 4 years. Uummannaq is a 12km2 island located about 650 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle in the northwest of Greenland. The second part of Chris Paton's interview is about life and the climate in the Arctic.

  • A CZE activity selected by the IPY for its October 2009 Polar Week

    The first IPY Polar Week will take place from the 5th to the 9th of October. For this occasion, the international office of the International Polar Year selected a number of pedagogical activities, including one of the Class Zero Emission activities of the IPF!
